The Dead Hedge Gallery is dedicated to displaying ephemeral art.

Ephemeral art is designed to fade, disappear, or decay. It’s an experiment in impermanence, transformation and changing concepts.

The three panel piece is made from cotton fiber, Japanese knotweed fiber and Japanese knotweed dried stalks as an inclusion to the pulp

The frame  is constructed from sorghum  stalks and Raffia.

The other piece is made from cotton linter, Japanese Knotweed pulp, office paper  brown and green file folders and fine ground coffee

The frame is constructed with dogbane stalks and raffia.

The art viewed on The Dead Hedge Galley at Knot Just Weeds, for example, deliberately allows the rain to soften and fade the cellulose fibers of the pulp and the wind to gradually deconstruct it, forming an abstract image, before nature reclaims the artwork. 

Works such as these exist for a short time and are often known later through photos or video.
